Warranty claimed from the date of sale, counted from production
Battery warranty depends on a date the manufacturer does not have, so claims are settled from whichever document the customer produces.

A battery is manufactured, shipped to a dealer, held, and eventually sold. Warranty runs from the sale, and the manufacturer sees only the first half of that.
Two dates, one record
Without a sale date fed back, the manufacturer either extends warranty from manufacture, giving away months, or disputes the customer's date and loses the dealer.
Dealer ageing is the second finding
The same record shows which dealers hold stock for how long. Batteries deteriorate on the shelf, so slow dealers generate warranty claims disproportionately — which nobody can see without the dispatch record.
What changes
- Serial and manufacture date recorded at dispatch to the dealer
- Sale date captured from the dealer, not assumed
- Warranty position determinable from the serial
- Stock ageing at dealers visible to the manufacturer
