Where grades differ in price and not in appearance, an untracked stack is an argument waiting to happen in both directions.

Board grades carry meaningful price differences and are not easy to distinguish once stacked, particularly by someone loading in a hurry.
The error runs both ways
A higher grade dispatched against a lower-grade order is margin lost silently. A lower grade dispatched against a higher-grade order is a complaint and a reputation. Neither is detectable without lot-level records.
Location does the work
Recording where each grade is stacked removes most picking errors without any additional check, because the ambiguity disappears at the point where it was being created.

- Grade and supplier lot recorded on receipt
- Stack location tied to grade so picking is unambiguous
- Dispatch recording the grade actually supplied
- Complaints traceable to a lot rather than argued generally
