Setup requirements

• A WhatsApp Business account with Cloud API access
• A verified business phone number
• Message templates approved by Meta before use
• Configuration entered in the admin settings, not in code

Permissions required

• Permission to send messages from your registered business number
• Customer consent to receive business messages, with opt-out honoured

Security and privacy

• Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (TLS).
• Credentials and tokens are stored server-side and never exposed to the browser.
• Access can be revoked at any time from the provider's own account settings.

Known limitations

Stated plainly, because finding these out during implementation is worse than knowing them now.

• Meta requires templates to be pre-approved; free-form messages are limited to a customer service window after the customer writes to you.
• Message pricing is set by Meta and billed to your WhatsApp Business account, not by us.
• Customers who opt out must be excluded from further messaging.
